Pursuing what we really want

What does it mean to fully step into your life?

It means avoiding avoidance-work and instead, doing THE WORK. Have you ever absorbed yourself in a project that consumed so much of your time that there was very little freedom left for your true hobbies, passions, other people, and essential self-care? I bet you know what I’m talking about!

We have to allow ourselves to go after the things we want the most. Ask your heart if you need another excuse for not having the time. Is a different degree or that extra promotion, and with it the additional stress, going to bring you happiness? Do you really need to pack up your schedule?

I can see the logic… I used to believe the same.

Now I’m saying "no" to the idea of postgraduate studies even though it sounds very tempting. After all, I finally have a stable work with so much flexibility that I could fill my agenda with academic learning in order to make the most of this hassle-free time and become an MSc later... But what for? I nearly fell into the trap of avoiding my true destiny again.

My career is finally aligned with who I am and it took a while to get here. I could take these following 10 months to catch up on all the books I’ve always wanted to read, monetize my side-hustle, educate myself further about relationships and find the man I’d like to settle down with. Should I need a title then, I'm sure I'd get another opportunity. Maybe your priorities are different... only you know what pursuit of true passion you're avoiding. We’re so addicted to being busy filling the 'gaps' that we can't hear the whispers of the heart saying "stop... and savor the moment." I want to enjoy the fact that I love my current job. How to get rid of FOMO (fear of missing out) and reset? Put your hands on the heart and ask yourself - What do I really want?

What do I really want? What do I really want?

Breathe in through the nose, take deep long inhales and exhales, feel the peace, reassure yourself that deep down you do know what you want. You’re accessing your higher self this way. You can also put one hand on the lower belly and after a while, move the other hand from your chest to the top of the head, then feel the sense of safety… enjoy it, you are being divinely guided.  Pause before taking another breath. Everything is unfolding perfectly, you are a spiritual being having a human experience, and you can turn it divine!

I’m including 2 of my favorite quotes relating to this topic.

The key trick is to find a balance between these two seemingly opposing beliefs. To self-reflect, introspect our hearts, discover the truth within, know that we deserve the things we desire, and they’re there for us. But we can’t sit around for too long, or wallow in victimhood thinking that we'll never get what we want. For what we want is out there, ready to be claimed by us, but we have to get off our asses and do the work. I can help you get rid of the limiting beliefs in your psyche and break the barries standing between you and your goal - because I'm positive that you've got what it takes.

With Love, Pavlina
